We are one of North Carolina's 16 Regional Councils established to support community development within the counties we serve. Our region - Bladen, Hoke, Richmond, Robeson and Scotland Counties - has a rich cultural heritage and history. We believe that our people are our most valuable regional asset. North Carolina Tomorrow / Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
The North Carolina Association of Regional Councils is leading a collaborative partnership with assistance from the US Economic Development Administration, North Carolina Department of Commerce -Division of Community Development and the US Department of Housing & Urban Development to create a statewide Strategy for Comprehensive Economic Development (CED) for North Carolina. Lumber River Council of Governments partnered with Cape Fear and Mid Carolina COGS to develop the CEDs for the eleven county region served by the Southeastern Economic Development Commission.
